Always smart to call it quits when it’s gusting good out there. Even if your out in the middle of the woods. Glad you didn’t get hurt, that’s all that matters man. We all make mistakes, we just have to learn from them.

I cut some of this tree for firewood.

Mark this one under trees you’ve recut! Had some maple slabs milled 4 years ago, for some reason one of them was cut with a taper and not level. Never noticed it until much later. Sou tried to true it up a bit today and came up with an idea to cut the taper out of it. Underside has a small cup to it but came out flat on one end! 34” wide and 72” long. An old big leaf maple that once it got cut down I knew I had to have it for milling. Forgot how nice the color was since it molds and oxidizes pretty good on the outside over the years.
