Hopefully he gets to leave the limbs for the processor or the poor bastard on the landing?

Lol, yeah stroker/processor takes care of most of it 25” and under thankfully, just have to limb and buck a log off the bigger ones.

Thank god for advancements such as strokers and processors they sure make life easier. Are you guys still mainly using strokers over there or are processor heads starting to make a break?

Yes! For sure. Mostly processor heads, faster and can operate in smaller spaces. Very few strokers really.

I hunt some State land (a big ridge) not far from here that was logged when it was still privately owned.

The skidder trails going up and down it are so steep you almost can't go up and down it even when it is dry.

I always have difficulty imagining a machine that could traverse it. Unreal what those skidders can do.

It’s even more nuts what they can do now since they’re tethered. An eight wheel machine will go a lot of places and on a lot of ground before needing a line once you’re hooked up that just becomes a safety line to your rear end.
