Does the 661 have lateral support buffers like the huskies do?

Only 1 if I remember right. It had 4 springs. The front has a star shaped sponge on the starter side of the case to tank.
I bet stiffer springs alone would help? I don't have any experience running a 661 except at a gtg, but the av seemed to do well from a vibration standpoint. I'd like to work with one for a while to get the full experience.

It's as smooth as a 5 series husky. My friends that work full time in the woods said change mounts monthly. They were $60 or so.

Several loggers here have decided to scrap the big and heavy 122 cc saws in favor of the 660 and 661. They figure the extra weight isn't worth the effort to toss around anymore.

But, if you want to go big and pay out more bread, buy the monster with 404 chain and a 41" bar and drop it WOT on a log and watch the big dog eat. Simple as that.

Loggers I've chatted with hated the 660 and 880, but love an 084. Since parts got scarce they went to the dark side and run 395's. The go through em weekly and tighten bolts and adjust throttle cables
