Trashed seal

This came out of an 084, flywheel side. Local shop here asked if I had ever seen any others like this.
Totally broken away from the outer rim all but about 25%.

Only thing I can think of is either serious heat cycling crappy aftermarket steel or something come loose from the bearings and gave it a good battering?

That was an OEM seal that was replaced in a total rebuild a couple of yrs ago.
