you still need a cylinder?
Yeah I'm going to put it back together as but its going to need a different one swaying between a 064 and a 066. After reading and seeing a few saw build of threads I'm a lil scared of am heads. Plus no porter want to grind on am anyways

I picked up these two for $30. Craftsman saw is siezed from storage and the mercury motor is in good shape other than this broken place.

Trying to decide exactly how guilty to feel...lol!

Guy walks in a couple weeks ago with a "seized" MS291. I yanked the rope and it was rock solid!!.....I told him he should really check his receipt from when he bought it as maybe there was still warranty.....He thanked me and away he went to see our local dealer. Turned out he was two months off warranty and they told him he was out of luck.....He comes back understandably livid and says it's the last Stihl he'll ever own and offers it to me for parts.... I buy it and toss it aside until I have time to tear it down for listing on Ebay.

I started tearing it down today. I was pretty surprised to see a mint looking exhaust side on the piston, so was pretty sure the crank must have let go and had a needle jammed somewhere....I was getting it pretty trimmed down, when I pulled the flywheel and there was a rock jammed in one of the holes in the back of the flywheel and was locked up against the side of the cylinder!!

Had to almost put the whole saw back together, but I got a pretty nice saw for parts price!!!:b1:

Finally got my dads 440, traded him a newly ported 262xp for it, it's going hybrid, all it really needs is the carb cleaned, needle valve is sticking
