Pics o' the 2100 I got yesterday:
[ATT],
A buddy asked me to fix his 2100, after I got it running pretty well the coil died and when I went to give it back he told me to keep it! So, for the ~$40 I put into it I have a complete 2100 with a 36" b/c that just needs a coil!
Doesn't the 2100 have that same stupid 1 piece ignition the old dolmars and Stihl 045 and 056 had?

Didn't some of those have a Bosch set up too?
I’m not sure, I know this flywheel says SEM on it and it has the three-pawl getup but anything could be behind the flywheel. The guy I got it from said it had a weighted flywheel so it would run smoother but I have no idea whether that is true or not or what a weighted flywheel would even do.

I'm guessing if the flywheel is SEM then the ignition is SEM. The Bosch ignition is different dimensions and I don't believe fits under the SEM flywheel.

A long time customer dropped this on my desk. He bought a farm and this was in one of the buildings. He will be back on Monday to pick up a new SxS and I will clean it up over the weekend to show my appreciation. Eat your hearts out…

Got my second MS150 today, the first one was very clean.
This one has the work saw look landed it here for about a buck per cc
i was told it was running bad so i checked the piston,it's nice just some dark carbon on the piston.
Tiny little hole in the muffler,3/16th" drill bit next to the hole for comparison.Muffler mod will definitely be done, timing advance and retune.150 a.jpg 150 b.jpg 150d.jpg 150 c.jpg

Forgot I picked this up earlier in the week. Makita announced these were coming out last year and I had not been able to find one locally. Wandered into the local Tractor Supply and they had one left and it was $100 off.

Neighbor brought this over: bucket of used, dirty, slightly rusted, chains. Might be a few gems in there?

Philbert
Maybe. I got about 50 lb of used chains from a logger in a 5-gallon bucket. I was able to save maybe 10 lb. One was so rusted and tangled into a blob that it was perfect for scrap steel. I trust that you paid nothing for this collection from your neighbor.

It was a gift, from someone who really understands me.

Philbert
Mine was a gift also. I still have the 40 lb of chains remaining, hanging on a long hook. These are all 30" bar length (105 DL). Trouble is that most of the loops have one side of the cutters file sharpened so that the teeth are half the size of the other side. That's typical onsite sharpening that I have run into many times.

Evening the cutters up usually means losing half the chain or more. Otherwise the loop will always pull to the side and make a square cut almost impossible. In most case, it's simply not worth fooling with. However, you have always loved challenges, and this bucket of trouble is a real dandy. If anyone can save the sunken ship, you can, but save your sanity. We need you here.
