I think that factory closed in the 70s. That axe is a really nice survivor. Saw was good find too!!

The info I found was 1973, I took some 2000 grit to clean it up a bit, some light water damage, it has the factory wood wedge in the head,,,,be nice to date it but,,,
Not sure of its future,,
Somewhere I may have another axe embossed Diamond,, just never did reasherch on it.
I found it,, a small hatchet head marked walters, has no handle not in bad shape.
I have about a dozen good axes german and swedish all from yard sales, I clean them up.

288 will go into my winter pile,,,,

Not me. Handy for topping on the ground also. Real nice walking hi tensile and electric fence.
There not so common i would think ...Have not ever had one in , plenty of the Stihl Ms 200. A pair as well ! so figured you knew a tree climber
