The so-called gasket sealer that I ran into was the same color as my permanent thread lock adhesive. Frankly, guys, I am surprised I was able to break it loose. And, I had to rebuild with the clutch still in place because that was impossible to remove. My gut feeling is that the clutch was also secured with thread lock adhesive.

I know this is an old post, but how did you do it with the clutch still on, what about the oil pump, I call fowl no way to do it

The flywheel has to come off, but the clutch can stay on. It's much easier to pull the engine with the clutch off. Somehow I did it with it still attached. I believe the pan, bearings, seals, and drive shaft all stayed in place.
