I know alot of you guys have full-on shops and probably have a million "WTF" stories about things that have come through your doors. Well, I don't have a bonafide shop but I have been repairing saws for a local tree service company and a relative here and there.
Well, the tree service gave me a little 338XPT and told me it runs like crap. So yesterday I had a look and sure enough, it runs like crap. I decided it would be prudent to pull the carb for disassembly, cleaning and inspection. So I went to going about that little task and there it was... or I should say WASN'T... No air filter! LOL! And of course the air filter base was caked with debris, wood chips and saw dust... Gee, I wonder why it runs like crap! LOL!
So after servicing the carb and getting it back together, it runs like a watch.. Picking up a new air filter for it tomorrow...
