I have one of each. I will do a comparison on them someday, as well.
I did the comparison. hence why the 64 has found another home. you, mike, and ryan all warned me about the vibes of the 064 compared to the spring of the 461. I ran half a tank thru the 064 and my hands were numb for half an hour. went to the garage and got the 288 and got the work done. Even the 2 series saws are smoother than the Stihls. The 3 series are even smoother. i think a lot of people get hung up on the stills cause that's what their old man had. That's what I took into account when I bought my first saw- a 10mm 044 from a pawnshop. Had it for 10 years before finding AS. Ive now had models from Echo, Makita, Dolmar, Stihl, Jonsered, Poulan Pro, and Husq. Happiest with my Husq/Jonsereds.

That is one good looking saw Skippy. I dont know but I usually go with my gut on these things. There are some saws that are just born cutters that I will sell but wont give away, then there are the run of the mill saws that I wont blink twice if somebody offers me a decent price on but I wont go high end on. That saw right there, if I didnt have to sell it, I'd test the waters by going on the high end and then seeing what happens. I bought my 084 for $600. Not nearly as nice looking but probably just as functional. Then somebody has got a NOS 084 that has never seen wood and he would like to get $2k for it. Thats a heck of a difference right there! Unless its going to sit on a shelf, the 064 is getting harder to find parts for and that is money too. I had to pay $140 for my dogleg coil that my 064 has got, cause that was the asking price Stihl had and its the only coil that I could find in a 5 state area. If you cant get one on the AS then they are real hard to find or somebodys holding on to the ones they've got. If yours accepts the standard coil then maybe you could get more money out of it. Just me thinking!

I think I'd start at $1000 for thay saw, in that condition. It's basically a brand new 064. Didn't Wiggs sell a minty 10mm for $1000 a while back?

The 1122 series saws do vibrate too much for my liking, compared to other saws of that class. The 1128 saws are just fine, though.

I paid $1240 for the nos 288 and $1100 for the nos 372xpg. I wouldnt consider an offer anywhere near what I paid for them..... cause I love them.:D Chris you need the "right" buyer.

Rebuilt a few of the field tested 064's the Stihl field tested out in western Canada prior to their release . A friend of mine got one and it still runs fine after a recent fuel system/carb refresh since it was done many years ago .
The crank journal and bearing size on these were a bit different if I recall correctly .

There was different anti vibe rubbers available for those saws too from stiff to softer depending on what the logger wanted .
