Well, didja eat it?
Wow. Didn’t snag a picture by any chance ? I’ve never seen that. I’ve seen ridiculous amounts of water but never actual soilYesterday I was cutting down a silver maple at one of our rental houses since the surface roots were creating problems and I experienced something I hadn't encountered in 46 years of cutting trees. This was a pretty normal yard tree and not overly large. (maybe 14" dbh). As I was making the back cut, liquid started coming out onto the bar. (not unusual) but then a geyser of "water" spewed out of the tree completely dousing me. It was like a garden hose was aimed at me. I completed the cut and when the tree was down, I looked and there was only a small hollow area in the center of the trunk. This was completely packed with mud. This wasn't decayed woody material but actually soil. I'm still not exactly clear of what was going on but it was strange... No additional liquid was coming out of the stump.
Yea had to do a runner for a minute or twoYIKES...that could smart some!![]()
