Mark -

I can't say on the TS-350 but a lot of other early Stihl machines had the condensers soldered in. Maybe @ray benson has a service manual?
I have no Stihl service manual for the early TS 350. Only the TS 350ave that doesn't have points.
Page 28 and 29 in the 08S service manual shows condenser - maybe it is the same setup as the early TS 350?

Thanks Ray - the Clymer manual shows the governed carburetor and @EFSM pointed out in another thread that some had that limiter rather than the air vane governor.

Now I don't have to spend hours investigating a mysterious ignition issue that does not exist...

I was bummed that the full wrap that came with my 046 would not fit on my 066...
I've aggravated myself a time or two buying a handle in hopes it'd fit a saw I couldn't find one for. Close doesn't count in that game.

So, here's an interesting one...

Local chainsaw carver dropped off 5 saws the other day for misc repairs. Stihl actually sponsors him for shows and he gets saws and parts donated to him.
These are older 170, 180 and ms250s

All 5 had clogged fuel filters and I'm out of that size so asked if he had any that Stihl might of given him. "Yes, will drop them off today"
This is what his Stihl rep had given him...😳
They aren't even the half decent copies, sheesh...

Eyeball-wise it looked like it would work. Its fine on my 046 - could not believe someone tossed this thing out at the dump!
What did it take to get it how you wanted it?

Hypothetical question…

I have a great running 440, stock except a factory type dual outlet muffler.

I am good at tuning and honestly it meets my need for a “big” saw. I also have a 261C (and have owned a 241C and a 362C) and like Mtronic saws.

What in practical use would a 462C offer besides Mtronic smarts? Does it have more grunt or more power up top?

I always planned to just buy a 500i at some point so I still think about that.

I don’t “need” either but I am older and sometimes you just want to upgrade stuff.

I'd port the 440.

@Mastermind @tree monkey @huskihl and @Stump Shot are all top notch porters that could wake up that 440

If you actually use a chainsaw instead of spending all day online talking about it a ported 462 or 500 is so much nicer to use than old saws, I'd explain it but there's no point.
