I happened to have a used fuel filter on my bench, so i snapped a pic of one disassembled for those unaware of thier construction. This one isnt horrible, but got replaced as a precaution

That's a deal compared to my closest dealers pricing. But thier prices are higher than snot normally, so YMMV...

Pretty sure our local Stihl dealer is at $1,379 for the 462 adjustable carb with the standard handle and a 20" bar.

Used to be able to get a 462R with 28" light, for $950 (at a certain dealer) before inflation and the other supply shortage BS.

Good deal, last 462 we sold at the dealer i work for was $1400something...dont remember the exact price, and was NOT a wrap, with 28" bar

I loved hearing that when I worked retail, the people up here didn't go half way, when they ran something over, there was no recovery, it was usually with heavy equipment...so we got to sell a new saw

And, the 2nd one was run over again, a week after I’d put $200 in parts into it. I was not amused..

One of my friends had a 044/046 hybrid I gave him. Used it logging for several years. One day he called me to tell me that his son ran over it with the skidder. There was very little left.

The first one wasn’t too bad…top handle, some misc…$120 in parts.
2nd one, not so lucky…$200+
3rd time, totaled and what was left is still in a box in the parts loft
I think I sold the crank to a member here…

But…I got pretty good at taking 261s apart and getting them back together
