Just noticed HLS has that 070 kit on sale for $275.00.
With free shipping it says, still don’t know if the China kit will hold up to milling duty or not, worried it might be a waste of money that I could put towards a good used oem 070/090.Just noticed HLS has that 070 kit on sale for $275.00.
I figured a person would, was just an idea and would need to do some measurements so see if you could take .160 off between the piston and the cylinder squish band depending how loose it is to begin with. If factory squish is 40-50 thousandths already a person might be able to machine enough between piston and cylinder.Might make for a pretty thin piston crown after turning down and trimming the popup to fit. Would probably hafta mess with the timing, too.
Hls was selling that little 024 , 69.00$ each in bulk of a dozen! There's some spare parts.Could be a neat little project. May hafta consider that myself on a 021 I have that needs a crank. Still lookin' for one cheap if anyone happens to have one to spare!
Yeah its got a "long tube header".041 av is a very nice older saw in my opinion, lower rpm 10,000 or so max with good torque. 61 cc and one of the first stihls with av buffers. I’d clean it up and see what it needs looks in nice shape under the dirt. I have a fair amount of parts for them if you need stuff. Also one of the coolest exhaust notes in my opinion.
Report back soon on your new coolaideThe 194’s getting better as it’s used, this weekend we’ll know if all the stuff that works with a 193 transfers over. I’m pretty sure it will since I think there’s only a few new parts mostly the piston and cylinder and I’m assuming the coil since it needs some way to track hours and such. I’ll even try to post a video of the 193 vs 194 here if I can figure out how
