I have no clue how or why this happened?
Aluminum has no known service life expectancy. So it can fail at any time. A friend of mine who’s a mechanical engineer explained it to me once. Basically for most aluminum pistons, they last for years of service before finally fatiguing. But there always exceptions. Same with bearings.. Anyway, great save!Only thing I can figure is that I missed a fracture when I took the original apart.
