I needed some clutch springs for a 7900 and ended up buying a whole clutch. Where is a good place for parts these days? @ajschainsaws ? Could still use a set or two of springs.

Steve @166 might have some, after all he is a Makita dealer. ;)

I might have a used set from a clutch that I broke the spider to get it off, would have to take a look.

My understanding is that the clutch spring is identical on all these models and Makita equivalents: PS-420/ 460/ 4600/ 4605/ 5105/ 6100/ 6400/ 73xx/ 79xx

Most likely PS-500/5x00 & PS-9000/9010 too, and possibly other models.

I did some painting this weekend. This Dolmar 144A came to me with marks in the clutch cover left when somebody used a sanding disk to remove corrosion, I guess. Then just painted over them with the wrong color paint. Not sure how they missed the decal. Aslo, there was a chunk missing from the recoil side of the hood. I was able to get a hood from CCC so I stripped both , filled and contoured the clutch cover, cleaned corrosion from the hood, filled and sanded then shot em’. They came out great! Oh, new Dolmar 144A decal inbound from our friend in Germany. Will look awesome.

Has anybody used a Hyway 52mm 7900 piston? HL Supply has one, the reviews have me nervous though. I do see the piston listed on Hyways website though. I wonder if they source it from somebody else...?
