Thanks for the answers i would just use OEM and recommend it to all customers
But this customer doesn't want to spend too much
Sometimes people don't have $225 to put into a top end after adding on the labor bill. The NWP kits from Bailey's are the same distributor that we have here on HLS. it will have a black coated piston skirt. These AM kits are plenty fine for cheap power upgrade from 64cc to 84cc. I have run them side by side with a well broke in stock 7900 and any power difference is negligible. The real difference I see in these saws is when they get a 372xp carb (HD12B or RWJ 4B-1) or if the OEM Zama gets a shine job from @Poleman

I just said it on another thread. Power and reliabilty is there in these kits. Delete the base gasket and mod the carb and you'll be running hotter than an OEM 7900. Some would argue the Transfer volume goes down and that you wont be able to push as much volume... Meh... Haven't seen or felt a loss in power so maybe the narrow transfer increases velocity??? Either way OEM always has a nicer fit and finish but these kits are a good all around bargain for cheap extra power.

153 doesn't have hours cus' there's no chain on it.
gotta figure out whether I want to go 404 or 3/8 before i make a chain. I was just happy as a clam to hear it run after sitting in my shop for 5 years!

Funny enough Nmurph - Neal was the one to cough up the parts donor to me. Haven't seen that guy around in forever!

404 is your friend with these saws :)

So I've spent the last couple of day cleaning and going through this 166 I bought.
Dose anyone have an old Oregon catalog that I could get a clutch drum number. The saw has a spur on it. I'm looking for a a rim number. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Uncle Lee won't answer his phone. Probably getting ready to watch the Patriots.

No I still have it. But it's like the Bat Phone. You only call it in case of an emergency.

A 166 is a good case of emergency.

Ok, I just called both phones. No answer. You need to change the batteries in your hearing aids. Just send me a rim drum for the 166. Free!!!
