Damn, that hit me hard!
I did not know Makita literally killed Dolmar in the roots/foundations.

I'm a big Makita fan. I've bought and used their tools for years, still do. But what they did to Dolmar was a hard pill to swallow. I still ain't got it down yet.

Finally found a seller for Euro spikes for a 7900...I think. $40 for the set shipped from Liverpool. lol We'll see. They had a Label I needed in stock so decided to try them for the spikes. Expecting a message telling me they are unavailable, or only one side is. They still list the good mufflers too (038-174-200). Price was about a dollar less than I can buy them directly from Makita for. Makita USA does not recognize part numbers 038250020 or 957250060.

Everyone likes new parts, these are for my PS9000, thought I was gonna really struggle to get the muffler cooling plate, but turned out easy from a localish online store, ordered and 10 days later it arrived. More parts are coming from North America, should have those next week.

I'm hoping one of you might be able to help me locate a set of crank bearings and crank seals for a Dolmar PS-401. I've looked high and low with no luck. Are they just obsolete to the point of extinction??

So I take it they are not the same per side.

What size is the radial ring and what size is the needle bushing?

I lost the circlip holding the sprocket on my 5600F, is there anything special about them or should I just order one from Makita, what size ?

Also found out my PS9000 has a bad on/off switch. My mate said it was always hard to start, I had it going last night and it wouldnt turn off by the switch until a bit of fiddling.

The E-clip is nothing special, a generic one in the correct size (E-clip 8mm) should work too.
In case You go OEM just order a couple to have spares as they have a tendency to disappear into random black holes.
They are a buck or two a piece OEM.

Sorry to report, the 9000/9010 On/Off switch has been NLA for a while.
Maybe if there is some old stock left somewhere, good luck.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that someone replaced this switch with a generic electronic component one of identical/similar build.
Maybe worth looking into.
Also, these old style switches can (usually) be opened and cleaned with some patience - just make sure You secure a truckload of calm first!

The part number for the switch changed to 965 605 402, had some from Makita recently

Hmmm maybe its no the switch, started it cold this morning, ran for about 2 minutes, without touching the switch it stopped and wouldnt restart

Maybe disconnect the switch from the coil and see if it has spark could be the wire damaged somewhere hopefully it doesn't need a coil

I had a play with it yesterday, had it running, for a couple of minutes and it stopped. Re-started and ran for another 15mins no issue, it feels like a bad ground/wire as you have suggested. I've ordered a new switch and contemplating a 9010 coil and flywheel.

Don't forget to check or better replace the short-circuit cable (024 147 010) between switch and coil as well.
