I know it probably depends on a lot of factors like the wood you are cutting or humidity etc, but do they need to be cleaned and oiled reguraly?

If you run the pre filter sock they stay clean for a long time.

Emerald ash borer (EAB), Agrilus planipennis Fairmaire, is an exotic beetle that was discovered in southeastern Michigan near Detroit in the summer of 2002. The adult beetles nibble on ash foliage but cause little damage. The larvae (the immature stage) feed on the inner bark of ash trees, disrupting the tree's ability to transport water and nutrients. Emerald ash borer probably arrived in the United States on solid wood packing material carried in cargo ships or airplanes originating in its native Asia. As of October 2018, it is now found in 35 states, and the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Manitoba.

Since its discovery, EAB has:

• Killed hundreds of millions of ash trees in North America.
• Caused regulatory agencies and the USDA to enforce quarantines and fines to prevent potentially infested ash trees, logs or hardwood firewood from moving out of areas where EAB occurs.
• Cost municipalities, property owners, nursery operators and forest products industries hundreds of millions of dollars.

That’s all I have been in my wood stove past 3 years is dead ash from that Beatle from hell , decimated all the ash in my area

No the black material does not require oil. That is the dry charger sock type. And what I would suggest.

The red foam does use oil.

No mods whatsoever, pulling 36" 3/8" full comp full chisel round filed in turkey oak.

Last summer there was a Makita-Chainsaw offered in german classifieds I never have seen before.
The type designation was DCS 7301-50 but it didn't bear any resemblance to the Dolmar-made
DCS 7300.
Now I have googled for the model and found one offered in Ukraine:



Does anyone have any information about this model.
To me especially the rear handle and tank just look like the typical china saw.
Maybe its a fake Makita?

Just found an online-shop in Ukraine, which has saws looking very much like the suspicious Makita
but branded Bosch and Stihl. So definitely a fake. Glad I didn't buy that one last summer.

100% FAKE! Look at the spelling of MAKITA, MakIta!!! All fakes incl Husqvarna's

Very interesting is that the manuals cover clearly shows a Dolmar/Makita 7300 , who in their right mind wouldn't notice that the product sold doesn't look anything like it?!

Having a little bit of common sense will keep You from straight forward scams like this!

Waiting on my Uni filter. This paper filter will do for now. Not ready to hack up the top cover yet, as the Uni filter is a different size.

Hi,

Anyone has own personal experience, using ASPEN 2 fuel ?
I know is expesive( 2,7 x to compare with E5 extra pump fuel+full synt oil) but has a plenty of benefits,as I read about it.
I am planning to buy.

If You run Your saws on a regular basis with a quality 2-stroke oil then You don't really need it, not in my experience.
E5 contains only "up to 5%" ethanol.
That will most likely change as the pump fuels keep containing more ethanol, E10 / E15 . . .
If You do not run Your saws often nor much then Aspen is a good idea.

Others will argue about what I wrote, but it is just my opinion and everybody has the right to have his own.

Agree.
I am curious when I will try the Aspen....... I read about, sometimes needs to retune the carb with Aspen fuel.
On " L" screw , 1/8 richer.
