Original models had this switch setup.
They used swamp water for lube, that is nasty.Well I got my dcs-9000 from @ajschainsaws.
None of the following findings are to be blamed on AJ!! Got it torn down, cylinder cleaned up. Crank is toast, think I have a line on one though. List of all kinds of other parts for it as well.
Thought about sending it to be powder coated but then I would want new tank and covers and all that crap. Thinking I’ll just leave it rough.
Saw was seized up but not from aluminum transfer.
Big eng bearing had so much crud in it that it was frozen. Piston off, pin bearing race in the crank has pit lines from the bearing rollers....
base gasket was folded down by the cylinder extension leaving what had to have been a pretty nasty leak. It was covered in grime from use.
Edit
Found crankshaft and most of the parts I needed thanks to @166 !

It’s not ugly, those are battle scars.Well it looks like it will probably be going to get its nose powdered after all.
It’ll look good once it’s done! Still making a list of stuff it will need to button it up but have to save the cabbage in the mean time.

Ok so I was going through my dolmar boxes last night and in the 5100 box it looks like I’m 1-2 parts from assembling one...
Figured I’d ask to swap my 5105 cover for someone else’s 5100s cover, or figure out how to modify my 5105 cover to fit the 5100s case?
I think... he wants to see behind the cover and expose the switch .
I hope you're right. Mine's on the waiting list. Never run a ported saw. Gonna run 3/8 64dl. Hoping it's a real animal on all of my 8-15 inch wood.Ported 5105s ain't no joke
The corrosion eating away at the pto side is ugly in terms longevity. It’s not ugly, those are battle scars.
True. The corrosion eating away at the pto side is ugly in terms longevity.
How different are they?
Not by much but I don’t want to start hacking on the underside of the cover and wreck my pre-filtration into the carb box. Figured someone else has either modified one of these covers before and could push me in the right direction or easier solution is to use the right parts and swap with someone.

Who list is it on? I feel mine runes like a stock 60cc .I hope you're right. Mine's on the waiting list. Never run a ported saw. Gonna run 3/8 64dl. Hoping it's a real animal on all of my 8-15 inch wood.
Does it work well? I'm guessing you have a slot in the tube to pick up the grit? Does it pressurise the bottle?Poor mans sand blaster! Clutch cover is slowly giving up its color.
