Beauty... and a great all around saw. It’s my single easiest go to saw to toss in the wheeler when I’m cutting around the acreage.

Speaking of which, someone might be finally getting around to putting together one of these this winter with some nice used bits and a few NOS parts accumulated. Cough cough... closed port... cough cough... [emoji6]

Steve do you (or Scott) want to add some wisdom on which carb and/or coil combo you think might be more optimal? Acres says 8500/12500 on rpm for 111/115 but nada for 520/540 coils. Or maybe one of you might be able to point to a carb from another model dolmar that would work more optimally... I was playing with a 123/143 but couldn’t fit the filter... [emoji53]

I might also get frisky and look for a red top set and handle to make it look like an original 111i...

Well I got my dcs-9000 from @ajschainsaws.
None of the following findings are to be blamed on AJ!! Got it torn down, cylinder cleaned up. Crank is toast, think I have a line on one though. List of all kinds of other parts for it as well.
Thought about sending it to be powder coated but then I would want new tank and covers and all that crap. Thinking I’ll just leave it rough.
Saw was seized up but not from aluminum transfer.
Big eng bearing had so much crud in it that it was frozen. Piston off, pin bearing race in the crank has pit lines from the bearing rollers....
base gasket was folded down by the cylinder extension leaving what had to have been a pretty nasty leak. It was covered in grime from use.

Edit
Found crankshaft and most of the parts I needed thanks to @166 !

No.3, No. 6 and the NIB are still with me where No.6 is a heated handles saw and one of my main work saws.

Is heat more common on those in germany? I have about 15 of these and only 4-5 are runners, and the rest are donors or someday builders. Never seen one with heat here in USA yet.

They have used the same Ducati ignition coil since Sept 1991 production. No rev limiters ever used.

Best carb would be the Tillotson injection setup. I may have a NOS here somewhere.

Ok so I was going through my dolmar boxes last night and in the 5100 box it looks like I’m 1-2 parts from assembling one...

Figured I’d ask to swap my 5105 cover for someone else’s 5100s cover, or figure out how to modify my 5105 cover to fit the 5100s case?

No there are not so many heated saws. But its a nice to have feature.

Got my full 100 cent with this, I like these Tillotson injectors very much on the 115.
Awful easy starting!
