Well well well.. Today has been a good day. I do believe I have found myself a builder. “The builder with no name” is what I will refer to him as. Videos to follow of a Hot Hot Hot 5105. WOW is all I can say.

I got my 9000 running. Have it tore back apart as when I would turn the saw with the recoil side up it would speed up and not want to idle right and would shut off if I would give it any throttle. Seal looked square when I put it in thinking I may have rolled the seal and popped the Spring off. Have a new seal on the way. Other than that I like it made just a few cuts with and really like the low end torque.

Waiting on parts.....

038 Mag runs. Looks like someone previously swapped a standard 038 carb onto it, I would assume that’s probably why it ate the previous piston.

Both Dolmars are in pieces, Mac 840 still won’t run and going through it for a 3rd time, little Husqy is waiting on a sprocket.

Nope not an Insanosized. It was done by a World renown chef and part time car wash attendant during his lunch break. Did the port work with one of those fancy files women use to scrap corns off their toes and elbows. Then polished it up with a “magic eraser” he picked up at the as seen on tv store.

Sounds legit. If he would of used a hoof rasp it would of made it a full blown racer.

I needed a work saw not a race saw.
Hell I had to go to a 43 2/3: 1 15/64 ratio of mix to get it to tune right. RC19Y spark plug she’s a screamer now. Castor Bean Oil mixed with Astro Glide is the key to top performance.

Have you done a vac/pressure test to track down any air leaks? Intake boot sealed up correctly or maybe the Fuel filter resting in a weird spot in the tank and not picking up fuel like it should?

I bought all the fuel saving stuff from JCWhitny my 6421 is now 150% fuel efficient ; so if anyone needs fuel I can send you some. I spend most my time removing the built up fuel, who knew?

I have not done a pressure and vac test. My thought is that if the fuel filter was in a funny spot it would not be instant to starve for fuel and lean out. As is the problem I have now. As soon as you tip the saw with the recoil up it begins to speed up at idle and won't transition. I also think that if the intake manifold was leaking I would have an overall lean condition. I got the new crank seal today. Should have time to install it tomorrow. Then run it again and see how it does. If still not right after that then pressure and vac test will happen.

Put new seal in and decided to do a pressure and vac test. Found the manifold leaking easy fix just tighten the clamp up some more. The bad news is the case gasket is leaking right behind the cylinder flange on the intake side. Tried to tighten the case bolts some more and the leak is still the same. So I will have to tear it back down and replace the case gasket. It does hold vacuum well just leaks on the pressure.
