This one didn’t even have a hand guard. Didn’t see any signs that a brake or guard was on the saw from the factory

The hand guard on this saw would have simply clamped on to the front handle, if you remove it there would be no sign that it ever had one.

I picked this up today. A friend of mine saved this from going into the trash can at his mother in law's house. Asked me if I wanted it. Dumb question!! It looks like a 306. Any info would be appreciated. I did a little internet searching on it.

It is a 306SA (Power sharp). Quite a desirable saw by the Allis tractor collectors.

They also had the 195 which was a 306A

Great find!

@Turner Saw :
That looks a very nice rebuild. Apparently a full paint-job with a great outcome.
Did you do the decals by yourself or found some original NOS?
I purchased the decals online. If you look close you can see some green paint on the throttle lock button. That was there from OEM not me! Lol!

I noticed that this 455 has fiber reeds instead of steel. Did they come stock with these, or has mine been changed at some point?

I’ve seen both metal & fiber on all that series pp but not sure if that was a factory thing or aftermarket

Here’s a bump for the Poulan thread. Got him all done and running great. I’m thinking this is a good one to take when cutting firewood with friends. They’ll be surprised!

Hi guys,first post here on the Poulan thread.I've got a few oldies - 245A,306A,S25DA & a couple of the Craftsman versions of the 25D.I just picked up a Dayton version of the 3700.It showed almost 180 psi on the compression tester & is supposed to be a good runner.I'll post some pics when I get the saw.

Least ways for the P65 I worked on, the factory Reed is metal and the "fiber" one was from Boysen.
