I got this nice PP180 from a friend and got him running today. Quite strong for its size! 38cc with a chrome bore.

I curious why you guys are making the rear outlets bigger instead of adding ones to the sides. It just seems like unrestricted exhaust heat will be concentrating on the back plate heating it up more making more heat towards the cylinder and top cover.
There's nothing like the 3400-4000 frame Poulan sound, expecially with the muffler opened up! Yours sounds great!
This thing has it's own sound to. Modern designs just dont sound as good.

Crap! I did not realize that was you. Finally remembered and put things together. That saw worked out real nice. We met at Steve's. Set the vid as your new ring tone! Cool sound!

This is a muffler I did back in 2014 on a 3400. Just a simple OEM style port. It was one of the first saws that I did when I started hanging out on the forums. 10-31-15.JPG

That's my plan for the 2nd muffler.

My next Poulan project. A 1964 Model 47 with no spark. Seems to be low hours on him so should be a good one. 92cc.

I was shown an original ad for this saw and it states that it is of 4.6 cu. in. or 74 cc engine size. I guess I’ll stick with what the factory says!

Nice little find today. Two each 2.3 Powersharp Craftsmans, and one 2.1 Powersharp. 2.1 still has the swing arm with a stone on it.
Sadly, they were all outside. Blue tarp had disintegrated long ago. Both 2.3s are locked tight and really rusty. May be too far gone for more than parts. 2.1 turns over nice. Pulled the rusty muffler. No water in there, but does look to be a scratch from carbon or something on the piston. Will have to check that out later.
Got a roached out(literally, there were roaches living in it, yuck!) 1010A that I thought was a goner, but got it to turn a bit with some penetrant and some taps with the plastic mallet, so we will see.
Also scored an 019T that doesnt seem too bad once cleaned up a bit. Another project.1112191734.jpg 1112191734a.jpg

I bet more of those Poulan top handles were sold as Craftsman than any other brand, including Poulan itself!

Here you go Steve. Wiped off a little bit of the saw shop funk. 019t. The boy likes the "creamsickles" so he may get this one if its not too bad off.1112191835.jpg 1112191835_HDR.jpg

Yep. Went over looking for a spare gas cap for the S25 after the boy cross threaded his. Found three. They were all attached to those saws though. Couldnt buy a cap from eBay for what I gave for all 5 saws I ended up with.
That guy is great. He saves everything. He has some stuff he doesnt want to part with, but what he does he lets go for little or nothing. I always pay him a fair price for what I'm getting, because I always want to be able to go back. Always find something new and cool.

Johnny B, I was wondering that too. Dont really make sense that they would come out that easy, but I believe the cylinder holds the rod more or less center when everything is together. If so, then it would be possible to slide the rod all the way to one side and replace the bearing rollers.
So to answer Steves question, EVERYWHERE, AND NOWHERE.:mad:
