Definitely too cold work on plastic. I don't like working on trim work when it's cold, scared something will break, same as replacing leather or vinyl seat covers, I'll warm those up to keep from busting a seem.

Don't get the parts swapped around, that would be a mess.

I have under the bench those 2 micros, and a S25da. Fixed an oil leak on the 3700, oil pump gasket was leaking. May have to pull it again, auto oiler barely dribbles and oil and manuel pump works if you use it once and pause for a few seconds the you can push the lever again. I looked at the diaphragm and it was real pliable.

I've got a 3800 poulan that needs crank seals . are they the same as the 3700/3750 seals? I'm having trouble finding them. Other than that its a good saw, a little heavy for 60cc but still a good saw .

National 235747, got mine at Advanced Auto Parts, less than $4.00, had to think for a minute on the saw.

I checked around and found a cross reference to the skf 6119 as being a national brand 340849 . no seal/bearing store could find a national 235747. maybe its a discontinued number. the ones I did find are listed as a 5/8 id and 7/8 od @ 93thou thickness. Does that sound about right?

The TImken (National) seal is 253747. That should help. I think Steve mistyped the number
The 340849 doesn't have a garter spring so it shouldn't be used as a rule. If the crank is perfectly concentric to the case pocket if might work.

Stick with

Timken 253747
SKF 6120 (Has a dust lip)
Skf 6119 (no dust lip but perfectly acceptable.)
All three are available.

Just as general info in my collection of stuff I have the master seal interchange book used by bearings inc .Usually with some research I can cross reference just about any seal ever made .The exception being proprietary types such as some Stihl .
Some times it becomes a challenge .Recently using OEM numbers for a Partner p100 I could not find replacement seals however using McCulloch numbers of the PM 1000 I did have success .

Sounds like a handy book. Where might one find such a book?
