Oats are good feed, you can never overload a truck with oats!!
Oh yes you can overload a truck with oats. I put on 1500 bu. of allegedly 36# tw oats in Chamberlain, SD thinking I was in good shape only to find out they were 38# tw. Should of been 80,500 but was 83,500 & probably could of got another 150bu. on. That was my first load of oats in a high side trailer with commodity hoppers. Lots of room in those trailers. Fortunately all the coops were closed & I didn’t see any scale jockeys on the way to Omaha.

32,34,36,38, 40 & 42 seems like some facilities skip the 34 & 40# If my brain remembers correctly. I loaded some out of St. Ansgar, IA that were listed as 42# they were the biggest oats I had ever seen. I thought they had a lot of chit in them but regardless they were big oats, took them to feed mills in MO. I suppose the germ was was low was the reason for the feed mill.
