I don’t understand some people. This guy listed this saw 9 weeks ago. I sent him an offer and he didn’t even respond. Ad expires after 8 weeks and relists it for the same price...
Are the ads free? Might feel that he can sit on it for a while, unless he really needs the money, or to get rid of it.

A lot of sellers are also lazy; just like a lot of buyers. Can't assume that they will always act rationally.

I have a hard time as a seller sometimes, because there are some real lowballers out there, but then sometimes I can be a little high in my asking price. I try to do some comparable price research, and ask accordingly, but sometimes a little negotiation is OK. Other times though, so many buyers (especially on Craigslist or Facebook) just lowball the crap out of you, and can really get under your skin. Maybe this guy has just been getting so many blank offers, without supporting comps of why this saw isn't worth what he wants.

Or, maybe he's just making his wife happy by saying he's selling it, but really not...

Ads are free (even though Ebay bought Kjiji) but expire automatically after 8 weeks. You can pay to promote your ad to the top of the page in searches etc but I have never seen much of that except businesses in crowded categories.

He may be trying to appease his wife, seems more like he's cleaning out a garage. Has 9 ads for various items, nothing really selling.

Most seasoned Kijiji users list with some negotiation room as they are expecting the low ball offers and they can be a hassle. Perfect example my wife listed a small table and chairs, 3 days goes by and nothing and then a reply comes in no preamble just a straight 40 bucks. Yes it got ignored.

I don't even acknowledge ridiculously low offers. I might respond once to someone who seems rationale, but just testing how firm my price is.

Same here. I sold my truck a while ago. Listed for $1,500. Somebody offered $800. My reply was a simple "NO". The dude actually ended up buying at full price, but I had to shut down his shenanigans first.

There was a 031 on Pittsburgh CL a while back and I asked if they would just sell me the scabbard. I even said I'll replace it with a brand new one. Didn't happen though!
