Check this out guys. Went to my local usps where I usually ship saws through, ship a saw and go to the suburban, taking a picture of the receipt to send to the buyer. Next thing you know one of the women comes to my window, roll the window down and she says I can't ship the saw because it's had fuel in it before....

I never tell them it's a saw. None of their business. I do drain the tank and air it out over night. Then bag it with a dryer sheet and another in the box.

There on to you! And yeah they are right. I was reading complaints about the Hitachi leaf blower since it's a pos and has a 7 year warranty or something, people were unable to mail it on for warranty work and were directed to take it to a "authorized" service center. Well for alot of people its was hours or states away.

So I went back in and had a nice discussion about how this isn't the first time I've shipped a saw... and then I get the saw back and my money refunded on my card(that was a bit of a deal too as she said they couldn't put it back on my card o_O, they ended up doing it anyway).
I've shipped out of this location which is only a mile or so from my house for many yrs now. Everyone there knows I'm shipping saws, it's not a once every couple months sort of thing either, but a very normal thing. There is another place I can bring them to in my town that does usps shipping, I just need to check into whether they go back to the depo in town or to the hub in Grand Rapids after being picked up.
For this one I just ran it to Fedex and they said nothing about what was in the box, but they did require my DL in order to ship it. I guess their new policy is that you have to have instate ID to ship, that stinks too as many times I will be on my way out of state and I will ship a saw from the closest point. At least I can go to a different usps and ship it when I'm out of town.
So the basic breakdown of this situation is that because it previously had fuel in it it will always have some sort of residue in it, therefore it cannot be shipped unless it's as hazardous. I will be looking into that more so I know what's required in case this is something across the board, but I'm pretty sure right now its just this one person and whoever else wants to do it as I've heard from others they've had similar problems so they go to the next town. She was very polite and said they hate to loose my business, everyone there knows who I am, it's a pretty big hit to me. All they have asked in the past was "does it have any fuel in it", that's the same thing they ask at every carrier I've shipped through, that is if they ask what's in the box then that's the next question normally.
She said she would get the info together for me and have the driver drop it off here so I can look it over.

I bet if you did the at home pickup through usps the driver would just grab it and go. Obviously that's a little more involved with weighing and printing labels but may be an option and save some headache for you?

That's another option, I just need to see if it will be going back to our local office, or to the depot. I don't want to do that and then have it get stopped here locally.
I can use UPS right next door and I do if someone requested that, but I've had great luck with the post office. Another thing that is an issue about the local UPS shipper is they aren't open on Fridays, and it's not uncommon to need to ship Friday.
It will all be figured out, it's not the first bump in the rd I've hit. Hows that go, experience is what you get when things don't go as planned.

That sucks. I didn’t know you were in Grand Rapids. I was in Benton harbor area for a couple weeks. If I make it back up to see the little woman I’ll get with you.

Maybe the badge was switched out as some point?

It's a totally different type of saw. MS230 homeowners saw in the range of the MS210/230/250
The MS260 is a pro grade saw built on the platform of the MS260 and the MS260 pro (they updated the cylinder at some point from 44mm to 44.7 added a decomp, adjustable oiler some would include the compensating carb).
