Badge design on the Super Magnums was a sticker on top of an aluminum plate. Most of them covered the entire aluminum plate, as can be seen in the previously show pics of both an 044 and 026 Super Mag.

With the 034 that you linked to the sticker is narrower than the badge (no cutouts for rivets). You can clearly see where dirt has built up around the perimeter of the sticker portion of the badge.

While I've never seen one in person, I've seen enough pics to know that the linked 034 Super Magnum is certainly no fake, just super rare.

That is not a true and accurate statement. I know that without a doubt, 100%, but I don't have to prove anything to you or show you. It was more then one shop out west, there were available in other places, markets. It was more then a sticker.

Go google "stihl 044 super magnum" and search images, let me know how many of the 044's I showed on the last page, you find in your google search. I didn't get a single one of those stihl 044 super magnum, images on google, yahoo, bing or any other search engine.

There is difference, in them, not just a sticker. I know what they are. Plus I've been inside of them, plus ran them against several regular stock 044 I have, they are not just a sticker. Plus I talked to someone at stihl about them.

A few dealers used to have there own badges made up, they would do a timing advance and MM and change the badge to make it appear factory optioned, I am with Frank I have never seen any literature directly from Stihl on a "Super Magnum", if they were making a rare model you would think they would want to market it right?
