The recoil starter appears to say 55. Not sure if it’s on a 288 or what but I’d check I to it more anyways

I think it says (or said) SE and the recoil is prob off an old 181 or 281 but I’m pretty sure the saw is 288...it has a decomp and i think the 288 is the only one of the three that does. Either way, I’d take any one of the three as a runner for 170$

It is honestly crazy what they are going for. Great saws...but people are wanting a mint...and others are paying.
I see, a lot of guys pay that for one, and I would too if it was real clean, and I ain't talking bout being hit with and air hose and some degreaser lol.

I had mine listed last year on AS with a jred 2166 very clean and a very clean 272 and had no hits. Mine has been gone thru from bottom to top all new oe seals and bearings as well as a new cylinder the was freshly ported, honestly it was the last one I wanted to sell. She don't look pretty, but she's a great running saw.
I have a real clean one I may grab up and throw my cylinder on, but he also has some others, we'll see.
