That pic it looks as big as a 590 to meYes I seen one at their demo day at the local dealer. I was just as unimpressed with the 4510 as I was impressed with the 2511. He said it was their ms251. It is heavy for a 45cc saw but it looked even bulkier. It looked as big as a 590. And that triangle starter cover should be illegal.

i had two of them on my bench in the last months, one in Echo colors and one in Shindaiwa colors. It is more like a farmer/semi-pro saw, a little bit big and bulky with a clamshell design engine. In this price class it can't touch a 5105 dolmar or a 545 in terms of performance.

Yeah why would you make a 45cc homeowner saw that weighs more than your 50 cc homeowner saw? Wonder if the price point is much different between the 490 and 4510The only problem I can see with it Mike is it weighs more than the 50cc 490/501. Nice looking saw otherwise.
20 bucks difference between the 2.Yeah why would you make a 45cc homeowner saw that weighs more than your 50 cc homeowner saw? Wonder if the price point is much different between the 490 and 4510

It's made to touch 251 and 445 and it overtouches them both in many aspects including power/weight ratio, AV softness etc. As for pure cutting versatility I find acceleration and torque curve better than 490. And triangle shapes remind of how sharp the plastics are so it's easier to stay careful. Sometimes if the branch is too small I don't see a reason to start the engine - I just show it to the tree and the sharpness of the plastics do their job.
Echo needs to get competitive with the bulk & weight on their saws. 'Some' they hit the nail right on the head and are as good/better than other makes but they got to stop putting 55/60/70cc cylinders in chassis sizes way too big. Get the 590/620 series and make it 80cc's & you have a somewhat a saw one would want to own.
I wonder if they are using the engine out of the Csg-7410. When we got a shipment of the 7410's I figured there would be a 70cc saw coming soon.
I'm sure something could be worked out.@Red97, if I get one before you and send it your way for porting do you think we could work a deal? Say I’m not in a big hurry to get it back while you dissect it for your memory banks.
It's a common thing but let's analyze generally (also note it comes with easy starts and other weight-gaining stuff) :
2511- lightest
310- lightest
352- lightest
370- well, sorry. At least good feature package and relatively huge stroke and outcoming torque
420 (400 in US) yep, sorry again though it's survivable 200grams from H440
390-very light, long stroke, it's unavailable in US
4510- lightest per power
490- lightest 50cc before 501 was released
501- lightest 50cc
590- decent weight if you compare with what it was made to compete with
620- lighter with both dogs than now 562xp with recent aluminum crankcase which probably stopped falling apart
And so on...
Basically this all "very heavy" comes mostly from certain guy who once upon a time heard somewhere in northern country that ECHO produce less power (= less torque on ~10k RPMs) without having a clue how they cut with higher load and after run-in. Don't get caught - it's generally misleading
I had a new echo CS-550p which is a pro grade saw. It was 55cc's & similar size/weight to my 7900 & 681. I ain't going off what I 'heard' or 'read' just first hand experience owning/running the saw. There were some great things about it like walbro felt filters and top grade components, it was built really well, just WAY to heavy and large for a 55cc Pro-saw. I like/run most makes I'm no cheerleeder for any brand. I even like Echo and mentioned they hit the nail on the head on 'some' models.
