I'm going to try this in hopes that I can tell my boss I drilled through a bearing with a harbor freight drill bit.
I have been doing that since my tweens making knives out of SS (Speed Steel) gangsaw blades & HSS blades for cutting steel.

I'd be rich by now if I had made that video back then.

I need some more advice...

I posted earlier that we are putting together a machine shop at our university. We have a vertical mill, a lathe, a bandsaw, a small MIG/wire welder,
drill press, a large belt/disk sander, small water jet, and a laser engraver. We also have a sheet metal brake/shear/roller for 20 ga or less.

The problem is that our money comes in weird ways. I need a lot of small stuff, but on occasion, we get funding that can only be used on larger ($5000+) items.

I have been interested in a single-lip grinder, like a Deckel, but it is difficult for me to justify the price for something that does only a few specific things.

Our bench grinder is cheap (Harbor Freight), and I would really like to be able to make cutters for the lathe and the mill, but I don't think that a bench grinder would hit the $5000 minimum, and from what I have read, a Deckel grinder won't necessarily help with that beyond making single-lip cutters.

What equipment would you recommend given our setup in the $5-10,000 range?

edisto A good tool and cutter grinder with tooling accessories would fit the bill. One that has an adjustable head assembly ( tilting) and spindle extensions.

My next project.

I have Pat’s quick links on my Kubota and they add about 3.5” to the lower lift arm length. The tractor has hydraulic top link and side link so getting the 4” back on the top is $.

Saw this online and did some measuring and math and a buddy cut the parts on his water jet. I have em and will weld it up this weekend.

(I did the markup with measurements, it is based on my specific tractor)
