I'm seeing alot of parts similar to what I do at my current job. We rebuild and manufacture water pumps for power plants, steel mills, water treatment facilities... I recognize the pump diffusers and stuffing box that davidwyby posted pictures of. That's my day-to-day grind, working on that stuff

I am sort of a tool w#ore and a big sucker for Solid-Carbide tooling. ;)

Compared to You guys I don't know squat, but my limited knowledge, or lack there off, gets me by making stuff when I need to. :rolleyes:

You are not alone there. The industry is constantly evolving, and I don't get to use the latest and greatest where I work, due to the products we service. The amount of times I sharpen brazed-on carbide stick tools a week would shock most machinists lol. When you are fixing one-off weldments daily, It doesn't make sense for us in most cases.

Wish I could post pictures of some of what we do, but I know of at least 2 of my co-workers who visit OPE and I don't want to get in trouble.
