My 357 is in a shop getting an updated carb.
I looked at the 562 as I truly liked the 357 before having trouble with it.
But after reading this post how would I even know what version of 562 is new on the shelf?
All the changes, maybe this saw is not for me, and I need to look at Stihls.

order from Bob @Spike60. 562xp is probably his most popular seller still. I know he has made that statement in the past. Tell him you want one of the most recent saws with all the updates. he will hook you up. my 550xpg hasn't given me a moments grief where I wished I hadn't bought it.

I don't care what make or model you own,if it makes you smile every time you use it, you got a good saw imo.
Just took mine out a few days ago to buck up some Hack, Silver Maple, Ash and White Oak, trimming to length and a bit of noodling. Every time I run it, it makes me smile!!

Would it be possible for a list of the most current revision and the corresponding P/N's
to allow someone that's not very smart (like me) to purchase and upgrade their 562xp?

Thanks!

I think you could get on parts tree or your favorite parts supply and choose the newest model year to find current part numbers.

This is good stuff sir.

Excellent place for it I suppose.

These improvements are really welcome by guys like myself that want to be able to stand behind these units.

Well done Husqvarna.
am I missing something or is that a "Shielded" bearing now ? Didn't almost everyone try those and crash on the landing ?

It looks like an integrated seal now like they like to use on the PTO side, and some sort of dust cap like a trailer axle gets.

I think it’s possible we may see something like this for the 550 XP. The original Bearings for both of these saws are not available as an individual part on the parts diagram. I’ll run the part numbers and see if they are still in stock.
Perhaps they’ll be an upgraded parts list out soon. I did look and see if there was a bulletin for the 550 but nothing yet.

I wonder how long it'll take to switch out those parts on an old saw.

Mine has never had a problem, but a mid-life update might not be bad...

I’ll never use or buy another 562 until they update it with heat management improvements like the 572xp and 550mk2. My 572’s put wood on the ground and start in any temperature... I can’t say that about the 562 unfortunately.

I saw a lot

Other than some hot start issues, yes they stink, but I'm just a firewood hack so not the end of the world for me. Like others have said, it is a pleasure to run.
