I'd honestly like a 261 more, but cant get a deal on one. I grew up on Stihls, JeffYou be goin all Hooskie on us Dominick. [emoji38]
Anyone else got any experience about this new model ?
Oh come now
I used to have an old maid teacher in elementary school who would say that when she wasn’t happy with the answer you would give her to the question she asked you.Young man, I’m getting know where here!
I really like the upgrades on the saw, feels extremely smooth, mine has about 12 tanks on it now running 20" .325 Stihl RS .058. I got a deal on it new at an auction. The saw makes good power,I don't think it makes peak power like a 346, but seems to have a more broad power band, my only downside is it feels more like a 357 to me it terms of balance and agility, not as nimble as I had expected. I think the improvements will have this saw lasting a long time and for firewood cutters in my area it will do very well. Most wood around me all I need is.a 50cc saw 90% of the time. Hope this helps.
So they're all junk??I had your 550 and slingblade’s 2153 here at the same time. They both cut at nearly identical speeds with 18” .325 after porting. His does have the 357 carburetor and filter. The difference I see is his feels like you’re driving a 68 Camaro, while the 550 is like driving a new Corvette. It all just depends on what you like to drive
If I go there, we’re going to get a five day lecture on the history of the Ford mustang. Let’s notSo they're all junk??
Do you have a Ford analogy?

Yep. But 0-60 times were the sameSo the ‘68 Camaro weighed ~3000lbs, and got 13mpg. But did 0-60 in 5 seconds. Shifting was with a rod-connected between the shifter and the transmission.
The 2018 Corvette weighs 3300lbs, gets 16mpg, and does 0-60 in 4 seconds. Shifting is electronic via paddles on the wheel.
I guess the analogy is the 346xp/2153 is a little more wild, little lighter and little less fuel efficient. The 550 is a little heavier, smoother, and more efficient.
