Welp......I just wanted to say that I really like these little mfers.
Did you go in my shop and get my new 550XP MkII?...you better port the damn thing before you send it back!
Lol...WE DON"T RENT PIGS !!!!!!!!!!!!
The 2253 (old 550 for those who don’t know) I had ran worse with timing advanced in hot weather. Messed with the autotune it seemed. I ended up backing it off a hair and it ran a lot better. Wonder if these new 550 are same or not regarding timing advance? They seem to have a lot of improvements over the old ones regardless...
Certainly doesn't have size issues.
This saw is way different. Likes a higher exhaust, and some timing advance.
I'd be happy to share my findings on port heights, ignition, muffler mod, etc.......
Do you like them more than the original 550xp?
Do tell! I have one to port sometime, the owner says it's a pooch stock. He's been ruined by ported saws.
Interested to see if there is anything noteworthy on things such as disassembly, assembly and machining fixtures different from the norm.

do you think it can get close to 261?
Someone send this man some test saws!!! Lol 50cc shootout for the win!Took .030" outta the squish.
Ex: 100
Tr: 115
Stratos: 72
In: 78.5
Advanced the timing about 5°
Muffler mods like the 572XP.
The place where the strato divider meets the carb needed some blending.
You gotta have a 43mm mandrel.
Yes......more refined. Better heat soak control measures.
The original 550XP could be made a little faster than a 261. I'm not sure this saw is really faster, as the saw I've been running ain't really broke in. I also don't have a ported 550OE or a 261 to test against at the moment.
