Yeah there's going to be a bunch going on here.
I'm overwhelmed with stuff that I don't use, need or want. That and I don't have the space for most it.
Changing jobs and hobbies over time has me buried in stuff.

Do you want a new old stock Mall chainsaw bar from the early 60's? It might be good steel to make blades from. It's never been on a saw.

My cousin used to make custom knives and machetes from old saw bars. He said the Cannon bars from the 70's were the best.

I made some kitchen knives from gangsaw blades.
They are not stainless but they do hold a good edge, although they are a little hard to get a good edge on.

I had a 20" diameter circular saw blade I wanted to try make knives from, but my interests changed and my dad ended up utilizing the blade for a project of his own.

I've got a 24 inch circular sawmill blade that I need to have cut into blanks ,I could get quite a few out of that.

are the modern farrier rasps any good, I might have a lead on them
Its same with them also, hit and miss. The problem with them is they are case hardened, not fully heat treated like they used to be. From everything I've read there's no way to reverse the case hardened material to be used traditionally.
