Cut a Dandy today!

It dwarfs the rest of the trees.. These trees averaged just over 250 bd ft per tree (which is pretty standard for this area) and the butt log on this tree alone was over 400 bd ft.

It was the stem on the left that I cut. The trunk was 1 hitch and the 2 co-doms were another hitch.

Mainline broke yesterday. A few minutes later it was back to pulling wood.
I’m surprised none of you called me out for putting the rings on backwards - I didn’t even realize I did it at first, or for a couple days for that matter, until I kept losing chokers! They kept popping out and I’d just put them back in, until yesterday when I took a minute to look things over 🤦🏻‍♂️ once I realized it, I laughed! I cut the knot off, switched them around, and refit it.IMG_8673.jpeg

I wanna play

It’s fine in the summer and the winter… Even part of the early fall. Late fall and spring I’ve always described as the parts of the year where the mud “wins.” The equipment gets stuck, your truck gets stuck, you get stuck, the inside of your equipment and trucks get muddy, it evens finds its way into your house… Somehow.

I think I’d almost rather work in the desert. 😉
