I should’ve got some pictures. Log truck slid off Signal Tree road at the 2. Shovel had to walk from the 8 to unload and reload him. Nobody was hurt, except some feelings.

Was it a Koos truck LOL , that was mean. Thats a steep grade to the top, I would not want to haul off that in the snow. Hopefully nobody got hurt.

Lol, it was a Mark Jones truck, and everybody and the trucks are totally fine. After that, though, they just parked all the loaded trucks in various places and left them for the night. The road is in pretty decent shape now. I’m cutting at the 8 mile mark, and the snow as of yesterday was up to my knees.

That looks like pretty decent cutting - BLM thin? I always kind of liked those.
It’s a 141 acre “re-gen” cut. It is basically a clearcut with random pods of trees left, or like here, where they scatter them out. This is on the outer boundary, where to the right of the picture, the terrain dives off into Camas Valley. So I suppose they put more leave trees up here to give the boundary a “feather effect” if that makes any sense.

We worked a few of those in south county - Mainly around Tiller and Glendale, by the reservoir. I like those cuts, especially when you break out on top. It looks like you got pretty decent wood here and there too. The wood around Galesville wasn't all that great but the wood on the two Jackson creek sales was really nice - part of it was salvage from all fires they had up there in '98.

I’ve done it both ways and prefer a machine when doing it mechanically.

I'm sure you have . I think you said you hand cut for 10 years?.
If you hand cut in the west coast for that long I'm sure you have sawed some dirt coated wind throws lol
