There are rattlers here in the dry, rocky areas. Quite a few in some areas, actually. I haven’t ran into a whole lot of them, thankfully. Yellow jackets and hornets have been bad on this new job, however.

Us Bus drivers do that early thing too. for years I did the get up at 2:30 to be at work by 3:30. Now I prefer more of a swing shift.

Yeah, they use a dangle-head or a stroker to process them at the landing. We will generally buck a tree if it is over 24 inches to make it more easy to handle. However that is highly dependent on the equipment, terrain, taper, and height of the timber. Some loggers want to pull in 30 inch tree-lengths, and some highly frown at it.
With my kids being older it's harder to get out of bed then ever. Typical night is watching them play ball until 9-930, get home around 10, grind chains and get gear ready, in bed around 11-1130.
That would be fun. So are you hourly or day wage then?
