She was at the neighbors eating food scraps they thrown out behind their house.
We dislike her doing that, but she loves it and we can't prevent it short of tying her up or locking her down.
My mom talked down on her as she returned so she took shelter in protected area - my shop.

Almost 15km/9miles in 2 3/4 hours Sunday walk with/for the pup.
We encountered that very friendly neighbor pup, he seems well behaved.
I may have to ring the bell and ask permission to enter the yard in the future.

My Dachshund would climb wood piles and such if I was nearby right up to now, he's 15 years old and isn't as spry as he once was.

She was at 13.9kg (~31lbs) mid summer, and yes it hindered her stamina to play and walk.
Thankfully she is a smart pup and learns quickly.
We followed her a couple times and bad talked her for going food scavenging at the neighbors - she yearns but doesn't do it no more.

We took an evening walk in the rain.

All the digging is getting the pup buff. 
I love her body getting in shape as nature intended after the dreaded summer heat weight gain she had.
Her endurance is also rising, our walks are getting longer again.
