They are becoming quite affordable, just keep an ear out if someone mentions having gotten into 3D printing.

It is very likely that a file for printing that bit holder or a similar one can already be had for free online.

Aluminum printing is pretty cool, wish I had one.

I think I read aircraft carriers were carrying far fewer spares and had 3d printers instead. Some of the metal printers and pretty good. Even if you can't print metal good enough you can print it in "wax" then cast it, machine it and heat treat it.

How about titanium? You could print a bullet proof chainsaw that could get run over or a tree dropped on it without breaking. They got titanium printers.
