You might also like the shindaiwa line.
A shop was going to let me demo a brand new 491 off the shelf for a video review but I haven't set up for it yet. It's the smallest, lightest 50cc saw I've ever put my hands on. It doesn't feel cheap and has the right heaviness you expect for a professional model. It's overall size is where it drops the weight...it appears not much larger than an ms180.
Their top handle is supposed to be pretty good too.

Those Shinny's are rebranded Echo's. I have an Echo 490, same saw as the shinny 491, and it's a great saw.....after a muffler mod. I've had it at a few GTGs and it never fails to impress. Light and nimble.

The honest feedback I've heard on the 355t has been similar to the 490. Solid saw that won't let you down.

I'd like to buy & try like a solo 637,

Owned a like new one in the bigger cc version 40cc ;). Not no 200 in the cut by any means. 637 had way better AV.

Thread on it http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/solo/solo-637-th/msg15714/#msg15714

I just did a new 201cm. I tried it advanced, then put it back stock. It was a little too much for it. Sorta broke up in the cut a little.

What do you mean by am broke in the cut? I will play around with mine and see

It would miss a little under light load, then clear out under pressure. Sorta like hitting the rev limiter.

After a few saws you can tell if the advance is too much, or fighting against the saw.

Did you port it or just do the muffler and TA? If its ported i wonder if porting would has a different effect on it than just a muffler mod.

Just thinking here. I'll play with mine and see.

I don't dislike echo one bit, but for some unexplainable reason I like it way way better as a shinny. Lol

I put it back to stock timing and it does seem to run a little smoother.
