Super excited just sent my first saw to be ported!

I have a 72DL loop with agressively set rakers for my PS-7900 - that don't mean I have no clue filing a chain, it just helps utilizing the saws power without having to push her down or forcing a cut using the saws spikes.

From what I have seen a quality chain will endure the increased load of lower rakers.

Is it safe in terms of kickback?
No, definitely not - be sure to hold on tight onto Your saw!
Is lowering the rakers beyond specs recommended?
No!
Will it bring a smile on Your face?
Yes! At least it works for me when bucking firewood logs in my back yard! Just don't use the aggressive loop for branching and bore cuts.

I am not trying to promote unsafe chainsaw operation!
Just saying what I do to still have fun with my big saw while set up with a shorter B&C.

You don't need to have trees big enough to justify a large saw!

The stumped look on people's faces when You start limbing with a screaming big saw is all the justification I need to use my PS-7900 in sub 10" wood.

Pulling my PS-7900 out of my car set up with the 36" B&C is another good reason - the reaction I usually get is in the ballpark of "...holy cow, where's the end of it...".

The very best reason to own a large saw is Your own well being though!
