Mine seems to have loads of torque but I haven't put a 36" on it yet. One day I willCall me crazy, but I don't feel that the 288 is in the same league as a 394/5 for torque. Great saw for sure, but...
Yes, but I think it has more torque and a stronger clutch than a 385xp. You can put the stronger 395 clutch on them as a upgrade as well. Not to mention a stronger bottom end. It isn’t as smooth as a 385/390 though imo.Call me crazy, but I don't feel that the 288 is in the same league as a 394/5 for torque. Great saw for sure, but...

So your saying the 288,385 and 395 have the same size big end rod bearing?Same main bearings on a 385/390 as the 288. Big end is the same size on the 385 and 395 cranks I cut apart to see.
Haha, that's the first I seen it. My woman just sent it to me today, made me laugh. That is one of Brad Snellings pictures. I remember when he had that bar made. It was a joke for a GTG.

And it's all about the angle of the dangle in direct proportion to the heat of the meat, and the mass of the ass that causes the size of the rise to remain constant.
Haven't run a 385 or 390 so I can't speak on that. I do own a mostly stock 288 and pretty stoutly built 394. Also run stock 395 and BG deleted 394 at my work. IMHO when the work gets into bigger bars say 36" and up (like stumping or flushing off 5' roadside maple) the 394/5 have the torque to pull it off. I just don't see a 288 being close to them for that kind of application. Going on my experience with my specific 288 I think 32" buried in big knarly stuff is about the upper limit of the 288s comfort zone. There's just something about 394/5 that makes them quite a bit stronger than a 288 in this area than you would think 7cc should gain them. Just my opinion based on my limited experience...and you know about opinions .Yes, but I think it has more torque and a stronger clutch than a 385xp. Yes but the 385/390 have a rep for spinning the pto side bearing in the cases. Not that I have experience that myself. It really is just a little larger, bored out 372. 395 is built stronger in general imho.Same main bearings on a 385/390 as the 288. I now a 2152CWH isn’t a stumping saw but is it desirable? I’m needing to learn French so I can get one that is for sale in Quebec...
