Well I just couldn't resist not getting one of these for my own 272xp.
As far as I can tell, the production filters are every bit as good as the original prototype.
So they still have my endorsement and will definitely be using these as replacement filters for other folks saw's.
@Gentleman did a good job having these made and on behalf of the saw nut community, thanks you.

All 268, 268xp and 272xp saw's came with a high top cover.

No.... That one is obsolete guess you need to send it to Illinois for proper disposal

Yes Sir the hd elbow and filter will fit on your saw just fine.

Nice looking saw.
Yes all, yours, mine, the next guys and everybody that can come up with an elbow adapter and a 390xp intake boot clamp, to convert from the other style with this filter. Of course, it's a direct replacement for saw's that came with it originally from Husqvarna.
