Storm damaged trees.... firewood now

From ice to thunderstorms, mother nature has been hard on the trees, in these parts, this year. Another one this morning. Anyone else cutting more storm trees than normal this year?

I don't even know what a live Ash looks like anymore

Box elders (acer negundo) are rat garbage trees but some guys like them for milling.

Really soft, only seem to grow sideways, tend to hollow out, etc.

They fail like crazy in storms.

Ash is my favorite firewood. It's just so easy.

I know this.....but here on the prairie, we take every tree we can get. Haha
