only muffler modded in the video its been ported by @huskihl and was ran by some at his gtg

only time mason ran the 500i was at the ct gtg before either of the 2 500i that was there was broken in
but some think they know all about all
Nothing wrong with how that goes pulling that 36inch bar! Question for @huskihl or @Mastermind can you port a saw just with the cylinder (I'm thinking of shipping costs) or do you need the bottom end as well (to time it correctly)?

If I had a case here I could do it. But I don’t, and I don’t have any 500i on the books right now

They shoulda put the 462 filter setup on the 500i and stronger AV mounts. The AV is rather floppy on a 500i compared to other offerings imho. I probably wouldn’t run longer than a 28” on it with that AV, which is about right for a saw that size anyway. It’s not a 90cc saw in long bar capability. Just something for the OP to take into consideration.
I ran the saw with a maxflo never made a difference on richness. I also stiffened the av with rubber bushings

Can you tell me what you use for fuel? The minimum Octane here in NZ is 91 and none of our fuel has any Ethanol. 98 Octane is readily available at the pump

My thoughts are that if you use a higher octane fuel that doesn't burn as fast that it might run slightly leaner?

I know you ported yours, but how did you like it stock? You had problems with it running rich didn't you?
I think it runs good stock, but there is always something to tinker with ;)

I think it would still run just as rich it's getting the same amount of fuel

I have only run 500i's stock at GTGs, but I have 2 ported 462's. If you did not have a 90 cc saw I may have a different opinion, but I think a 462 would better bridge the gap between a 50 cc and 90 cc saw, any you can get one ported through Randy!

I'd definitely be getting a 500i through Randy if he could get them, I just think a 500i would be better with 28-inch bar in very hard wood compared to the 462.
