I clean my saws completely every day I use them. I don't mind cleaning the filters too. I use air and blow everything out. [emoji106]
Then I just wipe everything down. Start fresh like new the next time I use them. Just me, I like to take care of the tools.

Utah, unfortunately.....
Doesn't matter how sharp the chain is on most stihls, the filters need to be cleaned quite abit. I finally just removed the cover on my hybrid and that helped a ton.

Apparently this customer tried something similar.

Missed it, by that much....

Part of my job responibilities recently have me dealing with atv/utv repair, learning as i go. Yesterday was fuel injection issues, did a bit of reading...

Evidently variations of this type of injection utilizing a temp/pressure (t-map) sensor are quite common on 4 stroke atv's.
And it seems like many use somewhat standardized components.
Some are open loop and some are closed, really just a matter of whether or not they use a/f sensors.

And there are of course all manner of aftermarket devices available to alter the fuel and timing parameters ouside of epa mandates by replacing, or splicing into, the ecu. Some are simply flash loads.

So there are possiblities for the saw, though doubtful any time soon due to the relatively low production volume and smaller still number of those wanting to do performance mods.
That and because it's more or less open loop makes it more complicated to alter.

But all it takes is one programer that gets interested enough to give it a go...

Aye. Here we go. I never said that. I prefaced my statement by saying "just me." I am anal about keeping my stuff clean.
Here we go with nothing. I was just saying that my stuff is taken care of too. Just not polished after I use them everytime

I am much more likely to clean my air filter than to have the time to clean the whole saw, but my goal is to keep em running good.

And sharp chain makes larger chips, which the filter sheds much easier. Conversely, milling is tough on saws and filters. Thing get especially dirty fast when milling close to the ground. Your saw sucks in the chips/dust right off the ground.
