I received my latest saw,an MS241C, in the mail this morning, and raced off to work to try it out.
It's had the muffler opened up by Brad Snelling, but otherwise stock, with hardly any time on it.
I owned a 362cm and never really bonded with it,so sold it and went looking for something different
Bought the 241 from a forum member,(thanks again Mike!) and i couldnt be happier with it.
It came with a 16"es light bar,and PS3 chain (i do want to try it with straight PS soon)
On smaller,5" eucalypt,it zipped through nicely, pretty similar to my Vince modded 181c,albeit more powerful,
it felt great,but not unexpected.
Putting it into a rock hard 14" ironbark log was quite a shock though,it chewed through it like a pint sized tassie devil, with more grunt than seemed possible for such a small saw.
I kept cutting rounds, and couldnt bog it down!
So i switched to a larger 20" grey box, same result.
Determined to bog it down,i flipped a 3ft round on end,and started ripping.
Finally,i managed to slow the little monster down enough to feel reality returning, but it still did the job like a saw 3 times its size. Incredible torque.
Maybe I'm just in the "honeymoon" phase, and my infatuation will wear off,but
I'm gobsmacked by this saw,and its coming to work every day from now on.
